Castle in the Sky Fox Squirrel and Flowers Brooch

Studio Ghibli, the creative vehicle for anime master Hayao Miyazaki, uses Castle in the Sky in the name of the Castle in the Sky Fox Squirrel and Flowers Brooch, but as any true Miyazaki fun knows, the fox squirrels first appeared in Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, where one of them is the eponymous character's pet, and yet another of them appears in the 2014 anime When Marnie Was There. No matter which film you associate them with, though, these unusual animals have become one of Miyazaki's trademarks and any fan would love to have one as an accessory.

The Castle in the Sky Fox Squirrel and Flowers Brooch captures a beautiful scene where a fox squirrel is sleeping among red and blue flowers. It is oval-shaped, measures approximately 26 x 40 x 5 mm (1 x 1.6 x 0.2"), and weighs just 12.5 g (0.4 oz), so you can even pin it on very thin fabric. To make sure it doesn't come off, the brooch is secured with a C clasp, which is suitable also for backpacks or bags!
