This sophisticated, build-it-yourself model recreates the engineering wonder of Hayabusa ("peregrine falcon"), Japan's most famous spacecraft. Hayabusa was launched by JAXA in 2003 to collect samples from an important asteroid, its capsule returning safely to earth in 2010 with the valuable scientific discoveries intact.
From its iconic golden body to its wide solar panels, this detailed 1/24 scale model is not only a great static visual, but it comes with a mini infrared remote control that you can use to start up the "ion engines". These take the form of LED lights recreating the sense of the spacecraft's engines propelling it through the universe. The stand also comes with four different seals so you can select the environment you want.
