Metallic Nano Puzzle Minamoto no Yoshitsune Armor Model

Samurai armor self-assembly toy

When people talk about samurai, they usually mean the warriors who rose to fame during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, during the period of great civil wars and the peace that followed them under the Tokugawa shoguns. But the beginning of the samurai era actually starts earlier, with the 12th-century clash between the houses of the Taira and Minamoto, one of whose most formidable warriors was Minamoto no Yoshitsune. The same warrior whose magnificent armor you can now build in miniature with the Metallic Nano Puzzle Minamoto no Yoshitsune Armor Model!

Yoshitsune lived in the Kamakura period and the yoroi armor of that time were indeed spectacular. Even though the Metallic Nano Puzzle Minamoto no Yoshitsune Armor Model's is a small replica at just 60 x 50 x 105 mm (2.4 x 2 x 4.1"), you can still tell that the Minamoto general's o-yoroi (great armor) was particularly impressive. To build it, you don't need glue, just a pair of nippers to cut the pieces from the runners and a pair of needle-nose pliers to bend them so they fit together. And you also don't need to worry about the instructions: they are in Japanese but illustrated so anyone can follow them!
