Apix Dry Meister

Multipurpose dehydrator

Preserving foodstuff in a country with Japan's humidity is always a problem. One of the reasons Japanese cuisine is full of fermented, dehydrated, or pickled foods is that these ways to preserve things and avoid mold and rot. Oddly, though, while Japanese fermentation and pickling has also spread to the West, dehydration hasn't and that's a shame, because it's a much simpler and more versatile method. Especially if you happen to have a dehydrator that is as easy to use as the Apix Dry Meister!

Drying things with the Apix Dry Meister couldn't be simpler: you put the fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, herbs, or even flowers (yes, it works fine with them too!) in its dehydration chamber, adjusting the height so that the hot air circulates best, and then adjust the temperature (from 35 to 70°C or 95 to 158°F) and set the timer, from one to twelve hours. Since its dehydration chamber is transparent, you can monitor the dehydration process in real time and stop it whenever you want!
