Thanko Hokaten Heated Indoor Jacket

Heated traditional Japanese overcoat

There are two traditional Japanese garments called hanten: the light livery coat workpeople and festival goers wear, which is also called a happi, and the padded one that looks like a wearable comforter or a more organic version of a down coat that is used to keep people warm in the winter. The Thanko Hokaten Heated Indoor Jacket is an a modern version of the latter, with a high-tech touch added: electric heating elements powered by a USB battery and keeping you much warmer than a regular hanten would!

It's still a very good hanten, though: made of polyester and spandex, Thanko's Hokaten has all the soft padding of a regular hanten so if the day isn't terribly cold, you can use it as it is without the heating. But if the temperature drops, you can hook it up to your USB battery (provided it is 5V 2A and over) and choose the mode for the five heating elements: 40°C (104°F), 45°C (113°F), or 50°C (122°F). It is surprisingly stylish for a one-size-fits-all garment and is also washable, so will always feel new and fresh!
