Iwachu Japanese Cast-Iron Deep Pot

Traditional nabe pot

Most serious foodies in Japan know Iwachu, a factory from Morioka, the capital of Iwate Prefecture in Japan's Tohoku region, for its amazing tetsubin, or cast-iron tea kettles. But throughout its 120-plus years of history (it was founded in 1901), Iwachu has experimented with many other uses of cast iron, and of course cooking pots was an obvious choice. The Iwachu Japanese Cast-Iron Deep Pot is the biggest in its line of such pots, and it's as attractive as it is practical!

At 30 x 22 x 18 cm (11.8 x 8.7 x 7"), the Iwachu Japanese Cast-Iron Deep Pot has a capacity of 3.5 liters, which means that it can help you prepare food for your whole family. And you can do it using any type of cooktop: it works equally well with gas, open-flame, and even induction tops. And since it's made of 5.8 kg (12.8 lbs) of cast iron, it retains heat better than any other material, so you will not only be able to cook a delicious meal but also keep it warm (actually hot!) for longer!
