Shirokuma, Penguin?, Tonkatsu, Tokage. These are the names you usually associate with Sumikko Gurashi, San-X's adorable characters who live in corners. But there are also the minor characters like Minniko, and among them, the smallest are the Tapioca (leftover tapioca balls). Thinking that they too deserve some of the spotlight of Shirokuma and its friends, San-X collaborated with historic toy maker Epoch and gave the Tapioca an amazing stage to show what they are capable of: the Sumikko Gurashi Pon-Pon Shot Game!
The Sumikko Gurashi Pon-Pon Shot Game is a toy/game for 1-4 players, featuring the small Sumikko Gurashi creatures. It includes a playing field with a merry-go-round in the middle that looks like a glass of bubble tea, plus four corners where players store their six Tapioca (like in the series, they come in yellow, pink, blue, and black). When the merry-go-round is turned on, it starts revolving. Players try to make their Tapioca jump and land in the merry-go-round's six places: it's harder than it sounds but is loads of fun!
