Yume Copper Teapot

Classic Tsubame crafted metal tea server

You don't need to perform the tea ceremony to appreciate green Japanese tea: you can just whisk some matcha in a big chawan bowl or, if you want something easier, just brew some leaves in a kyusu teapot. As a matter of fact, this is the way most Japanese understand tea preparation. The Yume Copper Teapot is one such kyusu but unlike the ones you might be familiar with, it isn't ceramic: it's made of pure copper because it comes from Tsubame in Niigata Prefecture, a city known for its copper craftsmanship for centuries!

Using the standard kyusu design with the handle on the side for more efficient pouring, the Yume Copper Teapot measures 125 x 160 x 82 mm (4.9 x 6.3 x 3.2"), which makes it big enough to serve 345 ml (11.7 fl oz) of tea. The pot's outer surface is decorated with a hammered hexagonal pattern, its handle is wrapped in rattan for both visual panache and heat insulation, and the teapot comes with a stainless steel strainer so you can immediately start making your tea. And when you're done, you can store the teapot in its beautiful paulownia wood box!
