Timeslip Bankman Coin Bank

Piggy bank in Showa/Heisei Tokyo-inspired design

2019 marks a special year for the Japanese calendar: the end of the 31-year-long Heisei period end with the abdication of Emperor Akihito. To commemorate the occasion, Takara-Tomy has created the Timeslip Bankman Coin Bank with representations of Tokyo's most iconic views: Tokyo Skytree (a symbol of the Heisei period) and Tokyo Tower (a classic achievement of the Showa era). Specifically designed for 500 yen coins, the banks will tell you an anecdote for that day in their respective periods whenever you throw some money in as well as move their eyes and mouths. The coin banks' vocabularies include telling you the time, the total amount of money saved, and encouraging you to save more.
