Cork Tsumiki Building Blocks

Assembly toy for kids

Board any train and you will see even toddlers playing with their parents' smartphones. What this means for the future of humankind we will find out in a few decades, but the truth is that no matter how early kids get used to screens, their basic skills and imagination come from making things. And this is why building blocks are being made and sold, and can still be found in children's rooms all over the world. When it comes to Japan, one of the oldest such sets is the Cork Tsumiki Building Blocks, with a history going back to 1931!

What has made the Cork Tsumiki Building Blocks last this long is the choice of material: instead of wood or plastic, they are made of cork so they are very light (and therefore safe) and can be combined in ways that regular, heavier blocks cannot. They come in two sizes, regular and large. Both contain 20 pieces but of different sizes, plus the large set also comes with a 37 x 28 x 17 cm (14.6 x 11 x 6.7") corrugated cardboard box for storage. Get a set and help your children discover the world in a fun and safe way!
