Otamatone Hatsune Miku

In the 15 years that have passed since it was introduced, the Otamatone synthesizer series has managed to gain a reputation as an excellent way to introduce someone to music. The Otamatone Hatsune Miku is very easy to play: at 67 x 270 x 133 mm (2.6 x 10.6 x 5.2"), it's simple to hold and only takes three AA batteries to get going. You make sounds by pressing or sliding your fingers along the arm, altering the sounds by using the buttons on its back, bending the arm, or squeezing the head. And yes, the illustration on that head is Hatsune Miku, the Vocaloid virtual idol who is one of Japanese pop's biggest names!
