You make sounds by pressing or sliding your fingers along the arm, altering the sounds by using the buttons on its back, bending the arm, or squeezing the head. And yes, the illustration on that head is Hatsune Miku, the Vocaloid virtual idol who is one of Japanese pop's biggest names!
