Suu Haa Man Abdominal Breathing Exerciser

Toy-like breathing exercise device

Singers, actors, and martial artists know it: the best way to breathe is through the diaphragm (pushing the belly out when breathing in and pushing it in as breathing out). And as a matter of fact, this is our default breathing style: just watch a baby sleep and you will see its belly expanding and contracting as it inhales and exhales. Unfortunately, we lose this skill as we grow older and if we want to get it back, we need some help. From a device like the Suu Haa Man Abdominal Breathing Exerciser!

The Suu Haa Man Abdominal Breathing Exerciser looks deceptively simple: a mouthpiece (which, incidentally, is washable) and a small plastic fan that attaches to it. All you have to do is breathe and out in a way that makes the fan move. To make things more challenging, there's also a figure that you can try and knock down with the air from the fan. Easy? Well, yes, but not really because only by breathing correctly will you be able to knock the target down when placed 5 cm (2") away!
