Pokemon Rayquaza Somen Slider

Nintendo characters cold noodles-serving device

It is one of the strangest customs of the Japanese – and that's saying something! Every summer, among the food stalls at fairs and festivals all over Japan are sliders made of bamboo in which flow water and very fine noodles called somen. Families with children sit around with chopsticks and fish the noodles out as they pass. And if you agree this is strange and very Japanese, how about making it even more so with a few Pokemon? As in, the Pokemon Rayquaza Somen Slider?

Licensed by Nintendo and designed by Takara Tomy, the Pokemon Rayquaza Somen Slider assembled into a 70 x 56 x 27 cm (27.6 x 22 x 10.6") structure with a big Rayquaza on the top and Pikachu, Psyduck, Piplup, and Quaxly figures and panels along the five-level watercourse. You fill the pool with water, put a D alkaline battery in its electric motor, assign a member of the family or your group of friends the task of dropping the somen, and enjoy catching them in the water that comes from Rayquaza's mouth!
