The King Jim Digital Mimisen Earplugs MM4000 allow you to do just that but unlike regular earplugs, also allow you to control exactly how much of the environment you want to shut out!
Working on the same principle as ambient-control earbuds, the King Jim Digital Mimisen Earplugs MM4000 feature three modes: you can go for full cancelation of the environmental noise (cutting it by 20 dB), a lower cancellation level, or if you need to hear something, say someone talking to you or an announcement, remove the noise-canceling function completely. They come with four pairs of earpieces, ear hooks, and clips for attaching them in various ways, and need just one AAA battery to keep going for up to 85 hours!
