Kaba Coaster
Absorbent soil hippo drink coaster
With its cute semi-submerged hippo (called "kaba" in Japanese) to keep your beverage company, the Kaba Coaster looks very original and attractive on your table or desk. But even better, it's made from diatomite, a highly absorbent natural material. Any rings or marks left on the coaster by your drink will then disappear as the materials absorb the water.
Created by Ryo Shimura, the design and choice of materials carries an ecological message: we should use things in such a way that they return to how they were.
