Iwachu Cast-Iron Origami Crane Incense Holder

Japanese metal-craft incense stand

The art of folding paper into decorative objects, is probably the most famous traditional Japanese craft. And unlike many other traditional crafts, origami is something that most Japanese know how to do since they learn it from a young age. And even if they're not masters of the art, they at least know how to make a crane, the most iconic of all origami designs. So it's no surprise that Iwachu chose that classic bird shape for the Cast-Iron Origami Crane Incense Holder.

Made of cast iron like the other superb products this Morioka-based manufacturer has produced since 1901, the Iwachu Cast-Iron Origami Crane Incense Holder is 7 x 11.5 x 5.5 cm (2.8 x 4.5 x 2.2") and comes with a 11 x 11 x 1.5 cm (4.3 x 4.3 x 0.6") pedestal for both functionality (i.e., collecting the incense ashes) and visual charm. It's available in three striking colors (red, yellow, and green) and the incense stick fits in the small hole on the crane's back, meaning it looks like the crane is carrying the incense while flying!
