N700 Series Type A Tokaido Shinkansen Sleep Mask

But if you have traveled between Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto and have ridden the Tokaido Shinkansen, the super-fast train that reaches speeds of up to 285 km/h (177 mph), you'll probably recognize the pattern of the fabric: it's the same as the Shinkansen's seats!

As a matter of fact, it is literally the fabric of the seats: instead of being a mere reproduction of the pattern on the trains' iconic blue seats, the N700 Series Type A Tokaido Shinkansen Sleep Mask has been made using upcycled material from the actual seats, so each mask is a small piece of Shinkansen history. It features a tag with the N700 A logo, complete with the train's characteristic flat "duck-bill" nose. It comes with an adjustable rubber band and is 20 x 10 cm (7.9 x 3.9") to fit most faces.
