The Yozora Oekaki by Takara Tomy is a light-painting art pen that works with your iPhone or iPad to customize and add personal flourishes to your photos. You literally draw what you want to add as you take the photo and the pen works with a special app in your device to create fantastic colorful shapes.
Japan already has a local custom for photo decoration, Purikura photo booths, and this penlight rifts on that along with now familiar long-exposure SLR camera light pen art, adding a new level of mobile device interactivity so the fun can be enjoyed anywhere. There are two colors of pen itself, plus each penlight gives you up to 27 colors.
The pens are capable of "drawing" straight lines, dotted lines and presenting colors in gradation. Plus you can turn photos into flip-book-style videos and share your photos onto social media services via the app, which is free to download (and available in English or Japanese).
