World Tile Museum Umbrella

Tile-inspired geometric pattern rain protection

Fun fact for future travelers to Japan and fans of museums anyway: besides the big national museums, the country is filled with all kinds of small and medium ones, sometimes general and sometimes very specialized – and not always on obvious subjects. Take, for example, the Inax Tile Museum in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture: who would had thought to create a museum dedicated to over 1,000 different tiles from all over the world? But Inax, a Tokoname company that makes tiles, did and has now contributed to creating the World Tile Museum Umbrella!

Themed after one of the Inax Tile Museum's most spectacular exhibits, the Islamic dome ceiling featuring some of the most amazing geometric patterns imaginable, the World Tile Museum Umbrella has a canopy with a 100 cm (3.3 ft) diameter, ribs approximately 60 cm (2 ft) long, and a total length of about 90 cm (3 ft). It's made of polyethylene, fiberglass, steel, and polystyrene, making it quite strong and even though it's not a parasol, you will want to use it as much as possible just to witness the sky becoming one with the dome ceiling tiles on the canopy!
