Meri Anne A104 Indoor Flip-Flops

Modern version of traditional Japanese zori sandals

The Japanese use them mostly as formal footwear together with kimono (men and women) or montsuki and hakama (men and martial artists), but the rest of the world thinks of the split-toe sandals called zori as something very casual and more appropriate for use at the beach or even as bath sandals. Merikoti, a factory in east Tokyo, took the idea one, well, step further and reintroduced zori to Japan as home sandals. The Meri Anne A104 Indoor Flip-Flops is one of the models in their lineup.

Being used indoors isn't the only thing that sets the Meri Anne A104 Indoor Flip-Flops apart from regular Japanese zori: to make them, Merikoti uses a 50% cotton, 50% polyester knitting yarn that results in an uneven surface that stimulates the pressure points on the soles of your feet when you walk. Add an adjustable strap and an off-center positioning of the toe separator and you have a footwear that is as good for your health as it is fun to wear. Available in bright orange and in three sizes (M, L, and LL)
