Wasara Paper Bowl Set

High-quality disposable tableware

When we think of paper plates, we think of cheap things for children's parties and BBQs but this isn't what the creators of the Wasara Paper Bowl Set had in mind! Utilizing Japan's long tradition of papermaking and combining it with a design that is both contemporary and classical, bringing to mind traditional pottery, they offer a unique take on disposable tableware that will appeal to anyone with an aesthetic sensitivity and ecological concerns – which in this day and age should mean all of us!

The 129 x 65 mm (4.3 x 2.1") bowls are made from biodegradable paper, which in turn has been made by tree-free materials – mostly from bamboo and the fibers from sugar canes called bagasse. Bagasse's fibers are similar to those of broad-leaved trees, so it's very suitable as a raw material for paper and, being softer, requires less energy to then turn into a bowl. With every set, you not only support Japan's paper craftspeople and designers but also contribute a little something to the environment!
