There are countless variations of ramen noodles in Japan. Not all of them are new, though: some go back decades and one of them is the black ramen of Toyama Prefecture that owe their name to their pitch-black broth that is soy-based and seasoned with plenty of pepper. Based in Toyama City, Tombow Beverage has recreated the essence of that special ramen in the Toyama Black Cider!
The Toyama Black Cider is very different from your average cider: robust soy sauce is masterfully blended with a spicy black pepper kick, which are layered over the sweetness and crisp carbonation of classic cider, creating a whole new flavor experience. Drink it as it is or try it in various mixes with or without alcohol: it goes great with beer! Or you can use it the way you would use a syrup, say on kakigori shaved ice or in ice cream sodas!
