When Tokyo won the bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, people started wondering about many things about the planning and preparations, but there was one thing that everybody was certain of: that the Japanese Olympic Committee would use the sakura (cherry blossom) pattern as much as it could! And of course, the JOC did not disappoint: it even managed, through the ingenuity of world-famous designer Tokujin Yoshioka, to integrate the sakura pattern into the shape of the torch for the 2020 Olympic Torch Relay (actually held in 2021). The detail is all there, though, and so is the craftsmanship. By owning this miniature, you have a unique souvenir of Tokyo's second edition of the Summer Olympics - and the only ones in the event's history to be postponed.
