Toffy Strained Yogurt Maker K-YM2

Simple Greek-style yogurt making appliance

There are very few things from Greece that have managed to penetrate the Japanese market but Greek yogurt is one of them: after the Japanese discovered yogurt, they started exploring its many varieties and the strained, thick, creamy version eaten in Greece somehow managed to find its way to supermarkets all over the country, first as an import and then produced by local dairy producers. But because the local stuff is still a little watery and the import stuff expensive, those who want the real thing turn to the Toffy Strained Yogurt Maker K-YM2 and make it at home!

The Toffy Strained Yogurt Maker K-YM2 is so easy that you might end up eating Greek-style yogurt all the time. All you have to do is fill the 160 x 160 x 150 mm (6.3 x 6.3 x 5.9") container with up to 1 kg (2.2 lb) of your favorite regular yogurt and then shut the lid: the spring presses the yogurt and helps the water drip into the lower part. Do that twice and that't all it takes to make yogurt so thick it's almost like cream cheese!
