There used to be a rumor that the Japanese eat their eggs raw and there's some truth to that: tamago kake gohan is rice mixed with a raw egg, topped with soy sauce, and another popular dish is raw egg used for dipping the meat when eating sukiyaki. But other than that, eggs are eaten in all the regular ways like fried, boiled, or as an omelet. And because when the Japanese do something, they do it as exhaustively as possible, they even came up with a device just for boiling eggs to perfection: the Toffy Egg Steamer!
Made for six eggs and coming in two cute pastel colors, the Toffy Egg Steamer is compact (200 x 155 x 135 mm / 7.9 x 6.1 x 5.3") and very easy to use: you put in some water depending on how hard- or soft-boiled you want your eggs to be (it comes with a measuring cup for that), then you open a small hole in the bottom of the eggs (the measuring cup has a pin for that), put the eggs in, and turn it on. When the steamer stops, your eggs are ready, exactly the way you want them!
