Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo Omoshiroi Block Shape Scenery Cask Memo Pad

Coffee shop chain notepad

Even if you're not a fan of Starbucks, the chain's Reserve Roastery in Tokyo is a sight worth seeing, if only for the amazing building created by one of Japan's top architects, Kengo Kuma. One of the features of the building is its copper cask that houses the Starbucks Reserve coffee beans after roasting to rest and de-gas. This trademark construction has now inspired the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo Omoshiroi Block Shape Scenery Cask Memo Pad, a unique paper craft item that is exclusive to Japan.

A collaboration between Starbucks and Triad, a company that makes 3D paper models of all things Japanese, the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo Omoshiroi Block Shape Scenery Cask Memo Pad initially looks like a regular 40-sheet, 10.5 x 1.2 x 14.8 cm (4.1 x 0.5 x 5.8") notepad that you can peel off, one sheet at the time, to write your notes. But as the remaining sheets become fewer and fewer, a 3D image of the roastery's copper cask reveals itself, and when the sheets are gone, you are left with a beautiful ornament – and can even hang it on your wall!
