This modern take on the traditional Japanese uchiwa, the Shinsengumi is a fan that will really cool you down during those long and scorching summer days. The name is a pun on the famous band of warriors from the late nineteenth century and the word for "fan". In fact, these nifty fans are made from steel and can be chilled in the fridge to provide you with a mobile cooling device - minus any batteries! They are still super light and thin, though, so you won't notice the materials at all.
Just put water on the fan and then refrigerate for around twenty minutes. When you bring it out the vaporization process will naturally produce a cooling effect that will prove gentle and soothing. Plus you can also add a drop of aroma oil to the cap at the tip of the handle, creating a wafting sensory experience to help relax you during the hot and stuffy summer days. There are three versions: Black, with windmill motifs; pink with goldfish; or blue with Japanese morning glory flowers.
