It might have become obsolete – and some would say, faster than it should have – but back in 1994, when it was launched, Sega's Saturn was hailed as one of the most advanced game consoles of its time. One of the reasons was that the games came in CD-ROMs, which have also become obsolete but which were for many years the peak of storage media. The Sega Saturn Wireless Charger revives the Saturn's CD-ROM as a special edition item that celebrates the historic console's 30th anniversary!
A little smaller than a regular CD-ROM, Onkyo's Sega Saturn Wireless Charger has a diameter of 102 mm (4") – real CDs are 120 mm (4.7") but this is 7.2 mm (2.8") thick to accommodate the charging mechanism. It takes various inputs and delivers 15 W for Android devices and 7.5 W for iPhones that support wireless charging. It comes with its own USB cable and with great Saturn-themed artwork that any fan of vintage consoles will love!
