Normally, a handbag shouldn't need to be made of a fabric so strong that it was worn by the firefighters of Edo-period (1600-1868) Japan or from players of judo and kendo (Japanese fencing). But the company that makes the Sasicco Seam Bag comes from that world and specializes in the traditional reinforced stitching called sashiko that plays a big part in making cotton fabric extra strong. Which doesn't take anything away from its elegance or practicality, making it an ideal everyday bag!
The Sasicco Seam Bag comes in four colors: three standard (black, gray, firefighter-style sashiko) and one limited edition (lavender). Its size is 200 x 460 x 300 x 140 mm (7.9 x 18.1 x 11.8 x 5.5) with a 145 mm (5.7") handle that allows you to either hold it in your hand or on the crook of your elbow like Japanese women usually do. The bag has a zipper closure and three inside pockets (two open and one zippered) and can fit pretty much everything you need for a day shopping or a night out!
