Sure, you can play the original Rubik's Cube with an opponent: you grab one each, set a timer, and see who can finish first. The Rubik's Race Master, though, guarantees much faster gameplay, because it adapts the famous color puzzle for a 2D plane and a smaller area: you need to make a 3 x 3 puzzle out of an 8 x 8 set of sliding tiles, according to the pattern randomly selected by a special die.
That is just the basic gameplay, though. If you want to make things even more interesting, you can use the extra four black or two "almighty" tiles instead of the colored ones: the black tiles mean "no color" and the "almighty" ones mean "any color," like wild cards. Set it up, choose the rules you want to play with, sit across your opponent, throw the die, and start! When you're done, slam down the vertical panel to show you've won: you won't believe how addictive this two-player update on the Rubik's Cube is!
