Otamatone Deluxe Colors

Updated version of toy musical instrument

It has already been 16 years since the art group Maywa Denki introduced the Otamatone, a toy that at the time was considered innovative enough to win the High Target Toy Prize at the Japanese Toy Awards. In those years, the toy won recognition as a theremin-style musical instrument from fans in Japan and around the world, and its designer made several further versions targeting more demanding or more casual players. The Otamatone Deluxe Colors is another overhaul, offering even more options than any previous model!

First up is more color: besides the standard yellow and mint colors, the Otamatone Deluxe Colors version also comes in purple, a color traditionally reserved for distinguished persons and occasions. And then there's the size: instead of the standard 67 x 270 x 133 mm (2.6 x 10.6 x 5.2"), the Deluxe Colors version comes in 100 x 440 x 220 mm (3.9 x 17.3 x 8.7"), which makes it easier to play and feels less than a toy and more like a full-sized instrument. And like the other Otamatone models, it features a 3.5 mm stereo jack for connecting to headphones or speakers!
