For those born between the early 1980s and the mid-to-late 1990s, pencils might sound as antiquated as quills but for the Japanese, they are still very much alive and used everywhere from elementary school classrooms to Fortune 500 company offices. Stationery companies are always thinking of ways to make them better - and possibly more fun. The Mount Fuji Eraser certainly ticks that box, allowing you to create a mini sculpture of Japan's iconic mountain landmark while using it to erase your writing.
When new, the Mount Fuji Eraser has the oblong shape of any regular eraser. That's to be expected, since it's a PVC eraser that works with all types of pencil. But as you use it, its outer color (blue, red, or pink) gradually reveals the white underneath and, by alternating between sides, you can end up with a perfect cone just like th 3,776-meter (12,389-feet) mountain. Could an eraser be any more Japanese than this?!
