Meri Mika M015 Children's Indoor Flip-Flops

Modern version of traditional Japanese zori sandals for kids

It isn't just to make them a more attractive souvenir that the Meri Mika M015 Children's Indoor Flip-Flops have the red, purple, white, green, and brown color scheme that brings to mind the woodblock print Fine Wind, Clear Morning (or, as most people know it, Red Fuji), one of the most famous works of Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), probably Japan's most famous artist. Merikoti, the workshop that makes them, is literally based across the street from the Hokusai Museum in Tokyo's Sumida ward, in the area where Hokusai actually lived and worked 200 years ago!

Color palette aside, the Meri Mika M015 Children's Indoor Flip-Flops are a great idea that will keep your children's feet clean and healthy around the house: made of a 50% cotton, 50% polyester knitting yarn interwoven in such a way that makes it solid, these split-toe sandals are comfortable and also stimulate the nerve endings in the sole of the feet, and help their wearer maintain better balance because their toes grip the fabric. They come in one size (21-22 cm/8.3-8.7") but their strap is adjustable, meaning they allow room for young growing feet!
