The Lego Adventures with Mario Starter Course comes with three figures (Lego Mario, Bowser Jr, and Goomba) and 231 pieces you can use to create numerous different game levels. What makes it even more special, though, is that this Lego Mario is alive: with built-in motion and color sensors, you power him up with a couple of household batteries and he will interact instantly with the other figures and the obstacles through sounds and facial expressions. And for more ideas (and assembly instructions), you can hook him up to the free Lego Super Mario Android and iOS app just by pushing the Bluetooth button on his back.
