The Japanese are famous for their miniatures and even today, if you do a little searching around Instagram, you'll find some stunning examples of them, very often handmade. The Japanese Restaurant Miniature Kit is an easy way into the miniature game since it contains everything you need to make a ippin ryori (a la carte, single dishes without sides as is the standard in Japan) restaurant like the ones that were very trendy in the 1960s and 1970s.

From the noren curtains to the dishes with food in them, the hocho chef's knives, and the teapot and teacups for after the meal, the kit has them all in amazing detail and with an illustrated guide for how to make them. And it comes with a lighting installation using LEDs that makes your restaurant even more spectacular in the night. According to its maker, it might take up to 25 hours to finish but the result will definitely be worth it!
