Inaniwa Udon no Ko (5 Pack)

Visitors to Japan soon realize that Japanese noodles are very diverse. One of the most common types is the udon family, which in turn comes in many different types, one of which is Akita Prefecture's thin Inaniwa udon. This is the udon you find in the Inaniwa Udon no Ko. As you will see when you open one of the five 160 g (5.6 oz) packs, the Inaniwa udon noodles here are not their usual long self but come chopped into fine rectangular pieces. The reason is that these are basically stubs left over after cutting the "real" udon. Why?
