Plain, see-through umbrellas are by far the most practical and therefore popular umbrella in Japan but don't you wish they had a little extra something that would break the standard shopping-bag look? Many Japanese share this wish and this is where the the I'm Doraemon Umbrella comes in: combining the ease of use of the regular vinyl umbrella with the robotic cat from the future that has been entertaining Japanese children since 1969, these the best companions you can have on a rainy day – in Tokyo or anywhere!
The I'm Doraemon Umbrella comes in two versions. The first features a closeup portrait of Doraemon front and back. The second, called Future Geometry, features him in various settings, alternating with geometrical patterns and some of his famous gadgets like the Anywhere Door and the Memory Bread. They have a canopy diameter of 103 cm (40.5"), a length of 88 cm (34.6"), and are made of sturdy polyethylene with an ABS resin handle so they last for many, many rainy days and nights.
