Howl's Moving Castle Walking Castle

Studio Ghibli anime toy

It's called Howl's Moving Castle for a reason: the almost organic, steampunk contraption that is the wizard Howl's home in Hayao Miyazaki's 2004 classic of the same name does indeed walk around on four legs that look like they could belong to a bird or small dinosaur. A realistic model of the castle should not only reproduce its weird appearance with the various protuberances, turrets, and chimneys, but also that unique walk. Which the Howl's Moving Castle Walking Castle does with amazing accuracy!

Thanks to a motor powered not by the fire demon Calcifer but by two AAA alkaline batteries, the Howl's Moving Castle Walking Castle duplicates the slow, unsteady movements of the castle from the anime. As it walks, the guns in its turrets also move and so does the jaw-like opening on the front, revealing Calcifer with his fire flickering like it does in the movie. Despite its small size (90 x 135 x 140 mm or 3.5 x 5.3 x 5.5"), this is a very detailed toy, which is hardly surprising since it's produced by the official Studio Ghibli merchandise shop.
