Lifting a beer mug isn't exactly considered a workout. As a matter of fact, if anything, it's considered the opposite! But beer is Japan's actual national drink, so finding a way to add a little exercise to beer-drinking seemed like a good idea to the designers of Doshisha, the maker of the Gorilla Sip Beer Mug. The result is interesting in many levels: it's original, allows you to enjoy your beer in a different way and in smaller quantities, and does indeed help you exercise your hands and arms!
About 11 cm (4.3") tall, the Gorilla Sip Beer Mug is significantly smaller than a regular beer mug and indeed, can only take 135 ml (4.6 fl oz) or about a third of a regular beer can. But what it lacks in size it makes up for in weight: made of stainless steel, it weighs about 2 kg (4.4 lb), which means that every time you lift it, you feel it in your muscles. If you think 2 kg (4.4 lb) is not very much, try doing it a few times and you'll change your mind! Enjoy guilt-free beer with this novel approach to exercising!
