Godzilla and King Ghidorah Reversible Sukajan Jacket
Classic kaiju monster version of 1950s embroidered double-side jacket
There is something fitting about the combination of Godzilla and sukajan, the shiny embroidered jackets that started off as souvenirs for American soldiers during the 1945-52 occupation of Japan and ended up becoming fashion icons. And the reason is the postwar era: both the King of Monsters and the sukajan appeared during roughly the same period and carry with them a feeling of nostalgia for a time of recovery and promise. All of which is to say that there's a lot to unpack culturally when it comes to the Godzilla and King Ghidorah Reversible Sukajan Jacket, but that shouldn't distract you from the fact that this is also simply a great clothing item!
Or, as it often the case with a sukajan, two: the Godzilla and King Ghidorah Reversible Sukajan Jacket features Godzilla on one side and, on the other, one of the kaiju's major antagonists, the three-headed dragon-like alien King Ghidorah. All sukajan dazzle with their artwork and this is no exception: with exceptionally detailed stitching and vivid colors, both monsters seem to jump out of their all-black or gold-black background, and look spectacular no matter which of the four sizes you choose. Oh, and this is a piece of licensed Toho merchandise so comes with official logos and everything!
