It has been 30 years since Case Closed, or as it is known in Japan, Great Detective Conan, appeared in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine and its local popularity is comparable to such legendary titles as One Piece, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Slam Dunk. To celebrate the series, publisher Shogakukan organized a big Case Closed exhibition that is been touring all over Japan and created some unique pieces for the occasion. The Case Closed (Detective Conan) Kaito Kuroba Plush Doll is one of these items.
The 12 cm (4.7") Case Closed (Detective Conan) Kaito Kuroba Plush Doll is not Conan himself but of one of the secondary characters in the franchise: teenaged magician Kaito Kuroba, who is the true identity of the thief Kaito Kid and the star of his own series, Magic Kaito. Depicted in the chibi style (also known as SD or super deformation), with an exaggerated big head and small body and hands and legs, the doll manages to squeeze a lot of detail from the character, including his hat and monocle. A real must-have for all Case Closed and Magic Kaito fans and a collectors item that won’t be available after the exhibition is over!
