Aderia Retro Tumbler with Stem Set

1970s-style refreshment glasses

A green melon soda (yes, melon-flavored soda)? Perhaps a blue kakigori (shaved ice) topped with ice cream? Or just that most standard of Japanese summer beverages, iced coffee? The glasses in the Aderia Retro Tumbler with Stem Set take you back to the 1970s, when Japan was starting to emerge as a world power financially as well as culturally, and showing everyone that it had a special understanding of design!

The Aderia Retro Tumbler with Stem Set comes from Aderia/Ishizuka, a company that has been making glassware in Japan's Gifu Prefecture since half a century before the country was modernized – literally since the times of the samurai! And you can tell by the attention to detail that these aren't cheap knock-offs but real 1970s designs made by craftspeople with genuine know-how. Each set features three of the five designs in the series and each individual stemmed tumbler is 7 x 15 cm (2.8 x 5.9") and 305 ml (10.6 fl oz) glass.
