The Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten Shuro Windmill Palm Broom comes from a long tradition of broom-making in Wakayama Prefecture. The workshop itself goes back to the 19th century. It comes in two sizes, one with 7 braids and one with 11, both made using the bark of the shuro windmill palm. These fibers have natural oils that make them resistant to water and very durable, and also are very fine so even very small dust sticks to them. Both brooms are 125 cm (4.1 ft) long, meaning they are very easy to use and come with a hanging cord that makes them easier to store.
