It's one of those quirks of Japanese cuisine in its interpretation of Western cooking: extra-thick sliced bread that's the equivalent of two or even three regular slices! It's delicious, of course, but has some challenges when it comes to toasting, especially with a home toaster oven. And it all comes down to how to achieve a crisp outer crust and fluffy interior. The abien Bread Grill is the first such device on the Japanese market to take on the challenge, and the results are amazing!
It looks like a regular (albeit very stylish) single-slice toaster, sized like one too (180 x 300 x 120 mm / 7 x 11.8 x 4.7"). But the abien Bread Grill packs a unique combination of technologies including three heat sources (radiant heat, convection heat of warmed air and regular, conduction heat), which guarantee gradual heating of the bread to achieve the crisp-yet-fluffy result everybody wants. Abien's proprietary circuit heater spreads the heat all over the toast and the springs that push the plates on its surfaces add to the effect, so you achieve the same results with a thin slice or even frozen bread – just choose the appropriate mode!
