And not just any paper: the 261 x 144 x 14 mm (10.2 x 5.6 x 0.6") plates in the set have been made from 100% recycled, biodegradable paper which has been produced without harming not even a branch of a single tree! The materials used are bamboo and bagasse (sugar cane fibers), so you can use these plates and throw them away without any environmental guilt: you have made your footprint a little smaller while enjoying a beautiful and very Japanese product!
