A collaboration between modern design studio Drill Design and veteran shoe-maker Mizutori Kogyo, the Two Piece Slipper. Using Japanese cypress from Shizuoka for the sole, this slipper-cum-sandal is warm during the winter and cool in summer, an all-round superior piece of footwear. The name comes from the two pieces of cypress used for the sole which are elastic and comfortable.
Partnerships between new designers and makers with over seven decades of know-how are a rare thing, but this shoe is the result of one such. Suitable for men and women, young or old, the slippers come in three colors and two sizes.
There are also two variations in the design depending on your tastes and seasons. One if the open-tip Tunnel version (somewhat like Japanese geta), while the other is the more standard slipper closed tip Egg. We expect the Tunnel is more suitable as a sandal for outside while the closed tip Egg is more like a regular indoor slipper.
The Two Piece Slipper features:
- Closed tip design (Egg) or open tip design (Tunnel)
- Colors: black, red, gray
- Size: Medium, Large
- Medium: c.23.5-25cm (9.3-9.8")
- Large: c.25.5-27cm (10-10.6")
- Materials: hinoki Japanese cypress, EVA, synthetic leather
- Cypress is a natural wood and so may change color or shape slightly over time
