Trash Plastic Model

Crushed paper ball DIY kit

She is perhaps best known for her gadget that fakes a Zoom buffering problem but Marina Fujiwara has been making seemingly useless inventions since 2013, including a cursing robot vacuum or a mount with a thumb that ruins Instagram pictures. The Trash Plastic Model is one of her latest inventions but this time it's one that you can actually build yourself and share her unique sense of humor and social commentary.

The Trash Plastic Model is a kit like any regular "puramo" (plastic model), containing two sets of 15 recycled plastic pieces that you can use to create two identical balls that look like they're made of crushed paper, each with a height of approximately 40 mm (1.5"). Their asymmetrical shape makes them an interesting puzzle to solve and the end product is a unique decorative object that at the same time makes fun of our attachment to material things in a very Japanese way!
