As all Westerners who come to Japan with tattoos and try to enter a public bath, pool, or hot spring find out, Japan is not a tattoo-friendly place: centuries of skin art being identified with organized crime have made even young Japanese feel uncomfortable with the idea of tattoos, despite the fact the country has a long and pretty incredible tattoo culture. Even today, Japanese tattoo artists are considered among the best in the world and one of them, Tokyo-based OT, lent his talents to the creation of the amazing Tattoo Hannya Water Bottle!
Because all things in Japan are more than they seem, the Tattoo Hannya Water Bottle combines two different traditions: that of tattoo art, which can be seen in OT's stunning depiction of the noh theater hannya demon figure, and that of the lacquering technique called Yamanaka-shikki that comes from Ishikawa Prefecture, and which gives this flask its unique matte texture. Available in black or red, the bottle has a capacity of 480 ml (16.2 fl oz), is teflon-coated, and has a double-vacuum structure thats keep its contents hot or cold for up to six hours.
