Nikken Sanada Yukimura Samurai Sword Scissors

Famous swordsman katana design cutting blades

Even those who don't know anything about samurai and their heroic battles in the Sengoku period (15th-16th century) have probably seen the spectacular red armor of Sanada Yukimura, the general who defended Osaka Castle in the great siege of 1614-1615. And perhaps already know his family's very characteristic six-coin crest symbolizing the tolls people must pay to pass the various stages of the afterlife. Both of which have been included in the Nikken Sanada Yukimura Samurai Sword Scissors, a celebration of a real samurai hero!

The Nikken Sanada Yukimura Samurai Sword Scissors have been made in Seki, a city in Japan's Gifu Prefecture that has been producing cutlery for over seven centuries. Of course, in the beginning it was mostly samurai swords but nowadays, they make everything including high-quality scissors – like this pair. They have an overall length of 180 mm (7.1"), with the two blades measuring 82 and 87 mm (3.2 and 3.4") respectively, and they cut amazingly well –just like the real sword of Sanada Yukimura!
