Co-founded in 1985 by the indisputable maestro of anime, Hayao Miyazaki, Studio Ghibli is known as a hub for some of the biggest talents of the world of manga and anime. So it doesn't come as a surprise that it would also seek the assistance of sculptor and designer extraordinaire Takayuki Takeya for the creation of a 3D figure of one of Miyazaki's most characteristic creatures, the insect Ohmu from his 1984 film Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. The characters for Ohmu mean something like "king insect" and if you have seen Nausicaa, you know that they can indeed get really big.
